Our Background

Organizational Background

Integrated Community Development Organization (ICDO) is an indigenous local NGO. Non-profit making, grassroots, non-partial, a non-political and voluntary and local established organization community-based organization located in Mandera East of Mandera county Kenya. It was established and founded in Mandera on 2nd June 2022  committed professionals, volunteers and lovers of the better world. Integrated and sustainable development of the entire Mandera county together with human resources, with the helping hand of the masses is the motto of Integrated Community Development Organization

ICDO was established after survey was conducted by the founders, which showed that a large number of the people living in Mandera county are among the most food insecure in Kenya, with the large number of its population living at subsistence levels and dependent on food aid. ICDO reaches the most affected vulnerable communities in Mandera East, and Rhamu of Mandera North of Mandera county effectively and efficiently. Integrated Community Development Organization (ICDO) Operates in Kenya particularly in Mandera County.

ICDO through its well trained and experienced staff members, we provide diverse emergency humanitarian responses and interventions, empowerment including training in programme and human resource, Monitoring and Evaluation in diverse sectors, undertaking and supporting development response oriented towards empowerment opportunities amongst women, youth and the business community in the area. The main goal is to impact the society members in a variety of ways leading to sustained livelihoods and eradication of poverty

ICDO - Who We Are

We are a non-profit, non-governmental organization that assists women and youth to build better lives through social integration, skill development, and useful representation in all aspects of life. ICDO has been founded by individuals that have faced the real challenges of having been discriminated and who have been touched by the success of other members of this group in their professional and social life. In an effort to replicate that success in the rest of the community, the idea of establishing a unique organization with a certain perspective has sprung.

We offer the following eight (8) Projects:

Where We Work

Our organization operates in Mandera East and Mandera North (Rhamu) and planning to open another centre in Mandera West (Takaba).
ICDO has representatives in Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Nairobi County.

Objectives

1 Improve the living standard of Vulnerable Women and Youth so as Eradicate the extreme poverty and hunger thus Increasing household level income to meet basic needs and attaining self-reliance and increased resilience.
2 To develop and upgrade the level of the community to more advance standard of living in particular emphasis to most vulnerable
3 To support and promote the livelihood of most vulnerable community and effected groups
4 To achieve long-term self-reliant on basis of mutual interests
5 To promote peace building among the communities and build their capacity through different multiple approaches
6 To participate in community development services as well as humanitarian assistance
7 Sensitize stakeholders on the eradication of the negative traditional practices including but not limited to Female Genital Mutilation(FGM) across the county by setting piloted precedents
